Job Position Opening – Director of Youth Ministries

The Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Winchester, TN., is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Youth Ministries for our congregation.  The position is open to both ordained clergy and non-ordained lay persons.

Winchester, TN. is located in Franklin County of southern-middle Tennessee and is a part of Murfreesboro Presbytery of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.   The county is blessed with both Tim’s Ford Lake and part of the Cumberland Mountain range providing plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities.   Also in our county is The University of the South (Sewanee),  a regional hospital,  golf courses and Tim’s Ford State Park.   Winchester is an hour drive from Murfreesboro, Huntsville or Chattanooga.

The Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church has been in Franklin County for over two-hundred years and offers three worship services each Sunday (traditional and contemporary),  programs for youth and children along with men’s and women’s ministries, summer offerings and opportunities to serve in the community.  The Directory of Youth Ministries would serve alongside our staff consisting of three ordained clergy,  a music and Christian education director and an office manager.

The Director of Youth Ministries is responsible for the overall planning, design and execution of ministries related to young people grades 6-12 and applicable ministries to their families.   This group graduated over twenty in 2021 but still maintains a strong core and will add several rising sixth graders to the youth group soon.   There are over forty families in the church with young people ranging from high school/middle school to elementary and pre-school age.

The core duties and responsibilities/oversight of the youth ministry will include but not be limited to:

•                 Sunday School
•                 Weekly Youth Meetings
•                 Online meetings
•                 Fundraising
•                 Youth Sundays
•                 Mission Trips
•                 Presbyterial and Denominational Retreats, Camps and Events
•                 Communication through applicable means including social media, church newsletter, text, etc.
•                 Reporting to the session monthly about youth activities.
•                 Prepare and control the youth budget as approved by the Church Session
•                 Visitation in homes, ballgames, other activities that youth are involved in.
•                 Other duties as required and requested by the Senior Pastor or Church Session
