The Synod of the Midwest met on April 29, 2023 at Morningside Cumberland Presbyterian Church (North Central Presbytery) in Evansville, Indiana.

Elder Raymond Nelson brought the Retiring Moderator’s Sermon and Rev. James Messer, Pastor of Morningside CPC, presided over the communion service, assisted by elders Dan Seeber and Roy Shanks.

Rev. Tyler Lindsey, of Cumberland Presbytery, was elected Moderator, and Rev. Dr. Bernice Belt, of Covenant Presbytery, was elected Vice-Moderator.

The Synod approved the request of Rev. Becky Zahrte to work outside the bounds of Cumberland Presbytery.

Mary Gard of North Central Presbytery and Rev. Greg Bowen of Cumberland Presbytery were elected to serve on the Judiciary Committee of the Synod of the Midwest.

The Synod of the Midwest was adjourned to meet on April 27, 2024 at Sacramento CP Church, Sacramento KY.
