The Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Grace Presbytery), near Columbus, Mississippi, in the community of Steens, suffered damage and lost their steeple in what was either a tornado or hurricane force straight-line winds on Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

Severe storms swept across parts of the American South from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning. Numerous strong, long-track tornadoes, destructive hail, damaging wind and flash flooding impacted the region. Tornado Warnings were still being issued Wednesday morning as supercells rolled through the region.
