Ruby “Susie” Estes Denman, 92, of Murfreesboro, widow of the Reverend E.H. “Denny” Denman, Jr., (d. June 22, 2011), and a member of the Smithville Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Murfreesboro Presbytery) died on August 1, 2020. Susie was born July 18, 1928, in Fosterville, Tennessee, to Walter and Sally Benson Estes.

The Denmans served a number of Cumberland Presbyterian Churches including First Church in Winchester, Tennessee; Edgefield in Nashville, Tennessee (now Brush Hill); and First Church in Dresden, Tennessee.

With an interruption of about two years, the Denmans ministered in the Smithville church from 1973 to 1993. According to the Smithville Church history, their “long tenure and pastoral leadership helped the congregation grow vibrate and strong.”
