Robert Donnell Presbytery met in stated spring meeting on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Hope Presbyterian Church, the Reverend Christie Aston, pastor. The Reverend Earl Goodwin brought the devotional and remembered the lives of the Reverend Aubrey Thomas Gillis, Elder Michael Dean of the Gurley Church, Elder Cheryl Hoard of the Hope Church, and Elder Bill Gibson of the Scottsboro Church. The constitutional amendments were approved unanimously. The pastoral relationship between the Reverend Richard Hughes and the Huntsville First Presbyterian Church was dissolved, and the Reverend Keith Lorick was appointed Moderator of the Huntsville Session. The Presbytery granted, with regret, the request of the Big Cove Cumberland Presbyterian Church Session to close the church, and a service of closure will be Sunday, May 1, at 3:00 PM at the Big Cove Church. A commission for the closure and managing the property was elected, of which the Reverend Dr. Ed Herring was appointed chair. The Presbytery expressed thanks to the Reverend Dr. Edward Soule, UMC clergy supplying the church, for his faithful ministry. The members of the Big Cove Church were assigned to the Gurley Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The stated fall meeting will be Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the Goosepond Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Matthew H. Gore is a British journalist, historian, popular culturist, archivist, and educator residing in Memphis, Tennessee. He is the immediate past-president of the Society of Tennessee Archivists and is best known for his book The History of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Kentucky to 1988 (2000). He has also published on a variety of topics as diverse as The Origin of Marvelman (a British superhero of the 1950s and 1960s), the relative scarcity of East German philatelics, and the biography of British pulp artist, Denis McLoughlin. He is employed by the Ministry Council of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at the Cumberland Presbyterian Center in Memphis, Tennessee, as editor of the Cumberland Presbyterian Magazine and as publications manager. He has been associated with both Western Kentucky University, which honored him with their James H. Poteet Award, and the University of Kentucky. He also serves as editor for all Boardman Books (Memphis, Tennessee) publications.
