Timothy Suenram, a former Cumberland Presbyterian Minister, died on Friday, March 27, 2020. He had been placed in an induced coma in the hopes his body would heal.

Tim and his first wife, Elizabeth, were members of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He came under care of Western Presbytery (formerly Lubbock Presbytery) on August 16, 1980. He was licensed to preach August 21, 1982, and, after having graduated from Memphis Theological Seminary, ordained at Heights Church on November 6, 1983. The Reverend Patrick Driskell (Memphis Presbytery) preached his ordination sermon and the Reverend George Estes delivered the charge.

Tim’s ordination was very likely the last official act of Western Presbytery before it convened as Cielo Grande Presbytery in 1984. He was a member of Cielo Grande only at the first meeting having already accepted a call to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, in Bartholomew Presbytery.

After Pine Bluff, Tim accepted calls to Olney in North Central Texas Presbytery (later Red River Presbytery), Evansville First Church in North Central Presbytery, and the Creekstone Fellowship new church development in Pearland in the Houston, Texas, suburbs in Trinity Presbytery. His experience at Creekstone left Tim disenchanted with the ministry and he returned to pharmacy as his vocation.

Tim’s second wife, Rose Fuller Suenram, was a former employee of the Cumberland Presbyterian Resource Center when it was located on Rembert Street in midtown Memphis.

At the time of his death, Tim was working as a pharmacist at a Walgreens in Corpus Christi and had no remaining formal connection to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
