The Reverend Sharon G. Bowers of San Marcos, Texas, died September 17, 2021. She was diagnosed with leukemia in December 2019. A member of Trinity Presbytery, Sharon was a hospice chaplain in the Austin and New Braunfels, Texas, areas who described herself as a liberal Christian feminist.

Sharon graduated from Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, in 1972. She held a 1994 degree in social psychology from Park University in Parkville, Missouri, and she was a 2001 graduate of Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Texas. She was ordained February 16, 2001, presumably by the Presbyterian Church USA.

Sharon first appeared on the ministerial roll of Trinity Presbytery on September 29, 2006. Besides her chaplaincy, Sharon served Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Trinity Presbytery) in Georgetown, Texas, as stated supply for just over three years.
