The Reverend Jerald “Jerry” Smith, 74, of Springfield, died Tuesday November 19, 2019.

Reverend Smith was born November 22, 1944 in Federicktown, Missouri, to the late Dale and Iona Murray Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in which he served during the Vietnam War. He was a retired Plant Engineer with Unarco in Springfield. After his retirement, he attended and graduated from Memphis Theological Seminary. Reverend Smith pastored both Maple Springs and Claybrook Cumberland Presbyterian Church’s in Beech Bluff for twenty years and then retired from the Presbytery of West Tennessee.
