The Reverend James Donald Clark, 88, better known as “J. Don,” died April 22, 2022. He was an honorably retired member of Grace Presbytery where he served for many years.
J. Don was born to grocer James T. Clark and Hazel Welsh Clark January 12, 1934, in Fayetteville, Tennessee. He was educated in the public schools of Lincoln County, Tennessee, before attending Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee as well as George Peabody College, Scarritt College, and Vanderbilt Divinity School, all in Nashville.
J. Don joined the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville in 1942. He came under the care of Lebanon Presbytery of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1953, while he was attending MTSU. Having graduated, he was ordained in 1956. The Reverend Hubert Covington preached his ordination sermon and the Reverends James Dancer and Boyce Wallace delivered the charge.
