On November 10, 2019, Pierson Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Marionville, Missouri) will celebrate their 150th anniversary. The congregations was organized in the Alexander Chapel School house; it was built for school and religious worship, on October 31, 1869 under Rev. S. Hindman. The Alexander Chapel burned and for a period of 8 years, there were no regular services. Later, services were moved to the Goose Pond School house, a log building that stood a quarter of a mile west of the present Pierson Cumberland Church building. By April 12, 1890 three acres of land had been given to the church to build. The church house was completed in 1891.
“We are 150 years old and have been at this location for 128 years. We thank God that we are still serving Him and His Son Jesus Christ.”
Interested persons are invited to join the Pierson community in celebration on Sunday November 10, 2019, at 11:00 AM. The service will be followed by a Thanksgiving dinner.
