The Missions Ministry Team (MMT) of the Cumberland Presbyterian (CP) Church endorses Rev. John Jairo Correa and Rev. Esperanza Diaz Correa as missionaries of the CP Church. Following multiple interviews, evaluations, and an extensive application process, MMT is fully satisfied that the Correas have the ability and call to serve as missionaries. They will serve in Guatemala, Central America. Currently, they are pastors of the Armenia CP Church, Armenia, Colombia. Both have many years of experience training leaders and establishing new churches.
The Correas will serve in Guatemala as church planters, work with the Council of Churches, develop leaders, and share in ministry with Rev. Socorro Delgado Pejendino. They will be deployed later in 2022, when visas have been granted for them.
The MMT celebrates the fact that God calls workers to the mission field and that there are people willing to accept God’s call. The fields are truly ripe and ready for harvest, yet the question remains, “Where are the laborers?” We believe if God calls missionaries, and individuals respond to that call, that those people merit our encouragement and support.
The MMT asks all CPs to pray for Rev. John Jairo Correa and Rev. Esperanza Diaz Correa and that God touches hearts in the CP Church to donate to the Stott-Wallace Missionary Offering. https://cpc.app-staging.com/mmt/sw/
