Miss Hite Weds Ralph D. Wright This Afternoon

Characterized by beauty and simplicity of detail, the marriage of Miss Helen Pauline Hite, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence H. Hite (1889-1978), to Ralph D Wright, son of Mr, and Mrs. B. D. Wright (1886-1966), was solemnized this afternoon at Edgefield Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with the pastor, the Rev. J. Miller Cook, officiating.
White carnations starred the palm, and ferns which decorated the altar, flanked on either aide by ivory tapers burning In branched candelabra.
Mrs. L.O. Hardaway, pianist; Gilbert Marshall, vocalist; and Mrs. W. C. Brown, violinist, gave a program of nuptial music preceding the ceremony.
Mr. Hite gave his daughter in marriage She wore a gown of ivory Chantilly lace made along graceful flowing lines with a high neckline an long fitted sleeves. The skirt train was edged with a narrow ruffle of lace. Her veil of ivory illusion was caught at the sides with clusters of orange blossoms, and she carried an arm bouquet of calla lilies.
Miss Inez Hite (1910-1947), who was her sister’s only attendant, wore a gown of cameo pink Chantilly lace, similar in design to that of the bride, with a bolero Jacket of lace. She wore a matching picture hat and her flowers were an arm bouquet of Briar cliff roses.
Richard D. Whitworth served as Mr. Wright’s best man, and the ushers were Clarence Hite, Jr., brother of the bride, and O.C. Inman.
Mrs. [Mada Gladys Wilson] Hite (1894-1982), mother of the bride, wore a printed chiffon gown with a yellow picture hat. The gown of Mrs. Wright, mother of the bridegroom, was of navy blue lace and she wore a navy blue hat and accessories. Both wore shoulder bouquets of Dresden shaded flowers.
Following the ceremony, Mr. and r Mrs. Wright left for a short motor trip, after which they will make . their home at 1113 Kirkland Avenue [2019: stunning historic home recognized on the National & State Registers]. For traveling, the bride wore a tailored model of poudre blue crepe with a pink hat and accessories.
Mrs. Wright was graduated from Isaac Litton High School. Mr. Wright was graduated from Central High School, and will complete a course at Y. M. C. A. Law School in the middle of June.
Those who came from a distance to attend the wedding were: Mrs. E.J. Denton of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. W A Hite of Florence, Ala., Misses Mary Christine and Evelyn Hite and Wilson Hite of Florence, Ala., Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Nave of Chattanooga, and Miss Ruth Garland Edmondson of Smithville, Tenn.
Following the wedding rehearsal Thursday evening, Mr. And Mrs. Hite, parents of the bride, were hosts at an informal reception at their home on McChesney Avenue for members of the bridal party, members of the two families, and out-of-town guests.
Assisting in the hospitality were Miss Inez Hite and Miss Margaret Hite (1920-2013), daughters of the hosts.
