Mary Jo Breeding Hitchcock, 94, died February 26, 2022 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was born in Cookeville, Tennessee, in 1928 to Hop Lee Breeding and Rosa Bullock Breeding, a Cumberland Presbyterian family. The family attended Mt. Hermon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Cookeville (Murfreesboro Presbytery), then when Jo and husband Armon moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, (now in Tennessee-Georgia Presbytery) first they were part of Whosoever Will Cumberland Presbyterian Church. After they moved across town, Jo and all the family joined Red Bank Cumberland Presbyterian Church in 1959. Mary Jo’s daughter is the Reverend Theresa Martin who is married to the Reverend Tom Martin, both of Tennessee-Georgia Presbytery.
