Lydia Josephine Davidsmeier, 21, of rural Virginia, Illinois, died May 19, 2022, while in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. While hiking the East Inlet Trail with friends, Lydia fell into Adams Falls on the west side of the park. The National Park Service reminded visitors in their press release to be careful around streams, rivers and waterfalls, where rocks can be slippery and currents can be powerful. Lydia was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church (North Central Presbytery). She was an undergraduate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, majoring in Earth, Society, and Environmental Sustainability with a minor in horticulture. She was active in Students for Environmental Concerns, Amnesty International and the Red Bison Restoration Ecology Club. Her aunt, Victory Moore, serves on the Ministry Council of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
