“It’s up to us to prepare it [the church sanctuary] for the next generation or two,” the Reverend Mark Hester said. Hester is pastor of Loudon Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Presbytery of East Tennessee) in Loudon, Tennessee

The session plans to renovate the sanctuary of the historic church building, which will celebrate its 140th anniversary in July 2022. They hope to expand their seating capacity which can barely accommodate the current membership and which overflows on special Sundays. The church was founded in the 1850s and originally shared space with local Methodists before the erection of the current building in 1882.
