Leonard D. Denney, 88, of Chico, Texas, died February 23, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was an elder at Zion Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Red River Presbytery) in Chico. Leonard was born April 27, 1933, to Hurston P. Denney and Ruth M. Redwine Denney. He served as a corporal in the US Army in Korea. He worked as a machinist for around twenty years before operating Denney’s Exxon Station in Chico.

In 1982, Leonard graduated from North Central Texas Regional Police Academy in Arlington. He served with the Bridgeport, Texas, Police Department as chief, with the Wise County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy and investigator, and as Wise County constable. Leonard retired as constable for Wise County.
