Kata Lou Ward, 69, known to most as Kay, died October 31, 2020. Kay was president of Cumberland Presbyterian Women for the 1999-2000 convention year. She was a fluent speaker and proud member of the Choctaw Nation. She was born to Sweeney E. and Mary Mae (Ward) Wilson July 6, 1951, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Kay lived in Broken Bow her entire life and graduated from Broken Bow High school in 1969. Kay married Jonah Ward at the McGee Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Choctaw Presbytery) in Broken Bow June 6, 1971. The McGee Chapel became a centerpiece in Kay’s life. She was an active member in the women’s ministry. This special place was where she worshiped her Lord, drew strength from her faith, defined her family values, and celebrated life’s most important occasions.
