John Dowd Perry, 91, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died October 31, 2022. He served two years in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Coucal, a submarine rescue ship, serving as the captain’s yeoman. He was a deacon at Scottsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Robert Donnell Presbytery) and later ordained as an elder and deacon at Brainerd Presbyterian Church (Evangelical Presbyterian Church) and was later named a deacon emeritus. He also served as a deacon at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga (Tennessee-Georgia Presbytery). He served as treasurer for the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Presbytery of the Southeast for eighteen years.
