Jimmy LeEarl Hill, 88, of Ripley, Mississippi, an elder of Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church (West Tennessee Presbytery) in Falkner, Mississippi, died December 20, 2021, the Reverend Richie Lockhart reported. Jimmy was born in Falkner September 11, 1933. He was educated in the public schools of Falkner and graduated from Falkner High School in 1951 before attending the University of Mississippi. Jimmy served in the US Army in Germany and in the National Guard.
Jimmy worked for Biltrite Shoes as a comptroller and later as accountant for Hill Brothers Construction. Jimmy served the Cumberland Presbyterian denomination as president of the Board of Trustees of Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee, and helped steer that institution through their financial crisis in the late-1990s. His nephew, the Reverend Jody Hill, is president of Memphis Theological Seminary.
