Jay Barker, 67, of Milan, Tennessee, died April 27, 2023. Jay was born October 13, 1955, into the Cumberland Presbyterian family of the Reverend Jack Harville Barker and Peggy Jean Phillips Barker in Savannah, Tennessee. Jay was a preacher’s kid, with all that entails, moving around from one of his father’s pastorates to another. Jack Barker eventually retired from the position of Executive Director of the Board of Missions of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Jay attended several Cumberland Presbyterian churches, the Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian near Savannah in particular. Jay was a popular restaurateur and a landscaper.
