In 1909, Henderson Brandon & Son built Huntsville, Alabama’s historic Church Street Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Although that building has been replaced, it will still be a focus of Historic Huntsville Foundation’s“Brick by Brick: The Legacy of Henderson and Daniel Henderson” as part of their “Rooted in History” exhibition series.
Henderson Brandon & Son was Huntsville’s most successful Black-owned Huntsville business in the decades following Reconstruction, 1880-1920. The free exhibit will debut on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Harrison Brothers Hardware, 124 Southside Square, Huntsville, Alabama, 35801. It will run through September 18, 2023.
