The 225th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) plans to address the historic injustices toward Indigenous peoples harmed by the Presbyterian Church (USA) and its predecessor denominations. The pre-1906 Cumberland Presbyterian Church is counted as one of those predecessor denominations. In order to facilitate discussion, the Presbyterian Historical Society has prepared a guide to Presbyterian affiliated Native American schools which is accessible online. Several Cumberland Presbyterian institutions are on the list, including Burney Institute, but not all are identified as Cumberland Presbyterian.
