Colonial Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Presbytery for the Midsouth) sold their property on Perkins in East Memphis while shut down during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Two fires broke out in the now vacant church building on Thursday, October 6, 2022. The first started in a first-floor classroom around 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon, but another blaze popped up after 10:30 p.m. Thursday night in a second-floor classroom.

The Memphis Fire Department believes the fires were intentionally set and are now investigating this as a case of arson.
