Focus
Slow your breathing and become aware of the taking in and letting out of your breath. Focus on putting things aside so you will be open to what God is saying to you today.

2 Kings 4:1-7 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
Now the wife of a member of the company of prophets cried to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead; and you know that your servant feared the Lord, but a creditor has come to take my two children as slaves.” Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She answered, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a jar of oil.” He said, “Go outside, borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels and not just a few. Then go in, and shut the door behind you and your children, and start pouring into all these vessels; when each is full, set it aside.” So she left him and shut the door behind her and her children; they kept bringing vessels to her, and she kept pouring. When the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” But he said to her, “There are no more.” Then the oil stopped flowing. She came and told the man of God, and he said, “Go sell the oil and pay your debts, and you and your children can live on the rest.”
Reflect
“I need a word from God!”
I have said this many times in my life, and if I haven’t actually said it out loud, I’ve certainly thought it too many times to count since I answered the call to the ministry. Sadly, each time I’ve said or thought it, I’ve immediately repented to the Lord. I cannot limit God’s ability and blessings by my lack of faith and obedience. God is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask and imagine, if I just let Him!
In today’s text, Elisha asks the woman what she has left, and she responded with a jar. What do you have within you that can be used for the kingdom? We all have something that can be used: a spiritual gift, a skill, a talent, a calling….it is vital as Believers that we dedicate time in prayer and discernment to realize we have that can be used for the Lord.
This is your moment. Make sure and “shut the door” – shut out all the negativity, jealousy, and insecurities from those who can taint your spirit – and rely on the Lord!
Remember, the oil didn’t flow until the widow released it. Get it out, share it, use it, prophesy over it, encourage it, get excited over it. God has already approved of it, for He put it inside of you.
Pray
Lord, thank you for giving us things that can be used for your kingdom. In times of want, in times of need we often think that we don’t have anything left, but Lord we tend to forget that with you little is much. Use us, use what we have for Your Glory and Your Kingdom. Through Jesus we pray. Amen.
Go with God!
