Relax joyfully that all our cares and worries are covered in God’s ever-present help in a time of need.

Luke 12:29-32 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
And do not keep striving for what you are to eat and what you are to drink, and do not keep worrying. For it is the nations of the world that strive after all these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, strive for his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. “Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Reflect
With the economy as it is, people worry about having everything they need. Stretching the dollar as far as it can go; school clothes for children, food on the table, gas in the car to get to work, etc. Especially for seniors who, for some, have to decide whether they buy medicine or food living on a fixed income. An income that is calculated on the scale of a working person. The worries of life mount as prices go up and salaries are either frozen or fixed. This scripture says for us to not worry about these things. Our awesome God knows what we need and is ready to provide. We just have to trust Him and focus our mind and heart on serving him and continuing the work that was begun with Christ. Reading and studying His word to prepare for the work He has for us as witnesses. Faith is a hard thing to hold onto at times when we are burden with the worries we face each day. Let us turn over those worries to the Lord trusting Him in all things. Being joyful in His work sharing our knowledge and faith with others.
Pray
Father in heaven, forgive me when the worries of this world over shadow my faith in you, causing me to focus on the world instead of you and your loving care. Help my unbelief so that I can live a more joyful life in you and be a better witness for you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
