Focus
Slow your breathing and become aware of the taking in and letting out of your breath. Focus on putting things aside so you will be open to what God is saying to you today.

It is so difficult living in the “already but not yet” — in this gray time between Jesus’ first coming and his second. We know the world is not right, and we want God to fix it. We see injustice all around us, and we long for it to be made right. We experience illness, broken relationships, sadness, death, conflict. We want all this to be made whole.
In today’s scripture, from one of the oldest books we have, God gives us a glimpse into his promises for us and this world: justice, righteousness, light, eternal salvation. Praise the Lord for His promises to us! All will be made right and whole. We know the end of the story, and we are to “wait in hope” (vs 5) for this coming day.
Pray
God, thank you for your promises to us in scripture. From the most ancient of days, you have had a plan to bring about justice, righteousness, and salvation. Holy Spirit, help me to wait in hope and expectation as I go about my day today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Go with God.
