It is hard to trust. I not only want to know where we are going, but I want to know the road map, the details, the pit stops, and the plan for how we will get there. This passage is of ultimate comfort that, although we often do not have God’s exact road map, we do know the end result and it is better than we ever could have imagined.

“[The Lord] will make [Zion’s] deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord.”

We look around in our lives and our world today, and many of us are surrounded by deserts and wastelands. But God is redeeming and transforming this world into the most beautiful garden we could ever imagine. Even when we can’t see how, may we trust Him and may this promise be of comfort to us today.
