As you quiet yourself for this brief time, be willing to be open to God, however that may take place.

“The rock was Christ.”
I don’t know about you, but I love watching people build and make things. It could be something small, like what I do. Things like crochet, knitting, embroidery, and the like. Or big things, like the time I helped my dad build our deck. I enjoy watching the cement pour from the back of a truck into wooden forms and 24 hours later and an entirely new foundation for a new structure is ready to begin its journey into someone’s home.
The key factor in any “build” is that the beginning, the foundation of that structure needs to be correct. If the cement had not completely cured, then the walls put on it will warp and sink. If I do not have the right pattern, or if my fabric for my embroidery is not properly secured, then my stitches will be in the wrong place and the beautiful picture I thought I was making may be looking like something a kindergartener would bring home from school. All my angles and lines are just not quite right.
In our Christian walk, we often talk about Christ being the cornerstone. This piece is of utmost importance. It will bear the weight of the walls being built around it. If the cornerstone is not placed correctly or is not strong enough the walls will collapse.
Jesus is our rock; He is our firm foundation. Read, study, pray and seek God daily with Christ as our rock.
Pray
Lord Jesus, You are my foundation. Help me to build a life pleasing to You. Amen.
Go with God.
