Reflect

I have never, and by the grace of God, will never be in a position where my life is threatened by evil people. I am fascinated by the life of David. It seems he was under constant threat. I feel like I am under threat when my coffee maker is on the fritz. David lived a life with the intent of being in a full relationship with God. God was more than an idea for David. God was more than a diety to David. God was David’s friend.

I like to read the Psalms because it gives us a picture of how we can respond to the events in our life that bring us joy and despair. Life is not always roses, but we have an outlet through prayer and praise that can help us get through our adversity without the usual anxiety and despair that our culture experiences on such a great level.

I will call upon the Lord today, in my triumphs and despairs.
