Focus
Let your soul take a moment of rest as you hear God’s word. Put your busy schedule, wandering mind, stressful thoughts, and burdened heart at the feet of the cross and open up to God’s voice as the Giver of Life tends your soul.

Psalm 142
Prayer for Deliverance from Persecutors
A Maskil of David. When he was in the cave. A Prayer.
1 With my voice I cry to the Lord;
with my voice I make supplication to the Lord.
2 I pour out my complaint before him;
I tell my trouble before him.
3 When my spirit is faint,
you know my way.
In the path where I walk,
they have hidden a trap for me.
4 Look on my right hand and see:
there is no one who takes notice of me;
no refuge remains to me;
no one cares for me.
5 I cry to you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my refuge,
my portion in the land of the living.”
6 Listen to my cry,
for I am brought very low.
Save me from my persecutors,
for they are too strong for me.
7 Bring me out of prison,
so that I may give thanks to your name.
The righteous will surround me,
for you will deal bountifully with me.
Reflect
You’re All I Have
Have you ever felt abandoned? I know I have had times in my life that I have felt lost and alone. I have had times in my life where I didn’t know if I could trust people that were close to me. Life can get messy and hard. When this happens many times we find ourselves on our face before God.
David was at this point. He had come to the conclusion that there were people in his life that didn’t always have his best interest at heart. He realized that through everything, God had been the one constant. God had always protected him and answered his prayers. David was a king. He had everything at his feet. He had power and authority. You would think that life would be perfect. Instead he was there saying God you’re all I have! When we find ourselves in that situation we find that’s all we need.
Pray
Lord, without you we have nothing. Help us to love you deeper and to feel your worth in our lives. Amen
