Prepare yourself to discern what is and what is not of God today. Still yourself so you can hear how God is calling you.

24 At this point Festus interrupted Paul’s defense. “You are out of your mind, Paul!” he shouted. “Your great learning is driving you insane.”
25 “I am not insane, most excellent Festus,” Paul replied. “What I am saying is true and reasonable. 26 The king is familiar with these things, and I can speak freely to him. I am convinced that none of this has escaped his notice, because it was not done in a corner. 27 King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know you do.”
28 Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?”
29 Paul replied, “Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.”
Reflect
A friend of mine who ministers in a country where it is very difficult to practice Christianity told of an opportunity that he had to visit with a high-ranking government official. During the visit, he felt led to share with this official a copy of scripture. This was a dangerous decision, but it was received with no harm to my friend. While my friend had no idea whatever became of this witness, the comment was made about how much impact having such a person becoming a Christian could make in this country.
In our text today, Paul does not shy away from an opportunity to share the gospel with Festus and Herod Agrippa II-two men both holding great power! While the results of his witness do not seem to have been effective, Paul was obedient and consistent in carrying out his mission. The gospel of Jesus Christ is for everyone whether poor or rich, weak or powerful, subject or ruler. Let us pray for opportunities to share in high and low places, and let us pray for the courage to share when those opportunities are given.
Pray
God our Savior, you have commissioned us to share the good news of Jesus Christ and yet we are often fearful to do so. Let us not forget that you have called us to share in this work and let us not underestimate the power of your conviction upon all people, whether powerful or weak. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen
Go with God!
