2 My brothers and sisters, whenever you face various trials, consider it all joy, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance complete its work, so that you may be complete and whole, lacking in nothing.
Reflect
Once we become Christian, why does God test our faith? Think for a moment about your school days. Our teachers were constantly testing us to see what we had learned. This was a way to measure when we were ready to move on to the next level. A first grader would fail a college exam because of their limited knowledge and experience. God will test us in order to see where we are in our faith journey. It seems as though some people accept Christ into their life, yet they want to remain a first-grade Christian.
The first sign of their faith being tested and they question where God is. Our faith is tested in order for us to gain more knowledge and experience so that during the toughest times of life we are able to withstand the temptations of the devil. Not only is God testing our faith, but the devil is testing us as well. If our faith level in God doesn’t continue to grow the devil is lurking in order to take control of our life. So instead of getting upset with God, be thankful that he is preparing your life to withstand anything the devil throws your way.
Pray
Dear Lord, help me to realize that the testing of my faith is producing perseverance and steadfastness, which in time will bring forth the beautiful Christlike character that you desire for me to have. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
Go with God.
