Intercession is the action of intervening on behalf of another. In the scriptures, the act of interceding consists of prayer, petition, or entreaty in favor of another. Moses gave us a very good example of how to intercede for others with God in two basic steps. First, he made himself right with God, second, he presented the people to God Moses said to God, “Now if I have found favor in your sight, show me your ways, so that I may know you and find favor in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people.” Exodus 33:13.
We cannot stand in the gap for others in the place of prayer if we are not right with God. God granted Moses’s intercessory petitions because of their intimate relationship. “The Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing that you have asked; for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.” Exodus 33:13.
Let us relate with God in such a manner that God will know us by name and grant our petitions as well as petitions we bring on behalf of others.
Pray
Help me Lord to know you in love and power. Be attentive to me whenever I call for myself as well as on behalf of others. Amen.
Go with God!
