Our Psalm today gives some excellent reasons to praise and worship God. First, the Lord, the Highest, is awesome, a great king over all the earth. God is victorious and has given us the right of ownership to His many blessings. God gave us his grace; we receive salvation through his gifting of Jesus. We are blessed individually with different gifts of skills, abilities, and spiritual gifts. God sits on His holy throne and He is highly exalted. God is placed at the highest or most powerful level possible.
We are called to praise and worship God in the beauty of His holiness. Clapping our hands, shouting to God with loud songs of joy is in order. The use of our hands, our voices, and musical instruments are all in order. In 2 Samuel 6:16, we read how King David danced with reckless abandon. “David danced before the Lord with all his might;” This means that he was jumping, leaping, whirling, and rejoicing with all his strength. During that moment, David was so overwhelmed with joy because the Ark of God was returned to Jerusalem.
We may not have possessed a high dexterity of dancing, but we can Sing praises to God the best way we can.
Pray
God you are king over the nations and you sit on your holy throne. God, you are highly exalted. Sometimes I get lost in my worries and thoughts that I fail to see your greatness and sing your praises. Let me be overwhelmed with joy on the account of your greatness and continually sing your praises. Amen.
Go with God!
