As you quiet yourself for this brief time, be willing to be open to God in whatever way that may take place.

Reflect
Many of us are familiar with the word, ‘quid pro quo’, a favor or advantage granted or expected in return for something. We often base our relationship on quid pro quo, always expecting something in return for our deeds. Some have come to believe that the only way to receive God’s grace or favor is through their efforts. They assume there is always a payback time with God.
God is not looking for our works or deeds. God is looking for our commitment. God wants our affection and wants us to let go of all little ‘gods’ in our lives. These gods could range from our attitude to our looks: our material comfort, career, money, etc. Those things are snares that keep us distracted from God.
Let us take courage, and put away the abominable idols in our lives. Let us repair the altar of the Lord in our homes. Let us restore our relationship with the Lord in the place of prayers, study, and doing of God’s words.
Pray
Lord just as I seek to understand people that I hold close in my life so that we can forge a good relationship, I want to emulate the people of God to enter into a covenant to seek the Lord with all my heart and with all my soul. Give me the grace to be patient and be true to you. I trust that Lord will give me rest all around. Amen.
Go with God!
