Focus
Breathe in clear thoughts of peace and reflection as you prepare to hear God speak to you through the scripture and the writer. Put aside all the things the world says you have to accomplish today and use this time to rest in God’s presence.

14 “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 15 but if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Reflect
Matthew recounts a parable that Jesus taught about an unforgiving servant in chapter 18. This servant had racked up a lot of debt and when the master wanted it to be repaid and he could not, because of the pleas of this servant, the master forgave the debt. The servant who just escaped certainly lifelong imprisonment ran into another servant who owed him money. But this servant who just received mercy and grace offered none and threw the indebted servant into jail. The master hearing this wickedness brings the servant back before him. He confronts him on this behavior and then tells him because he was so wicked delivered him to jail until his huge debt could be repaid.
Have you ever had this moment? Have you ever had someone sin against you and you have refused to forgive them, although all your debts have been forgiven?
Pray
Gracious and merciful God. We are often quick to judge others. We are often quick to point out their sins and wrong doings. We are often not so quick to offer mercy and grace. The same mercy and grace that you have offered us. Help us Father to forgive. In Jesus name, Amen.
Go with God!
