22 Without counsel, plans go wrong,
but with many advisers they succeed.
Reflect
At first glance, this seems like such a well-duh, moment. But look deeper, seek God in this verse.
Too many times we like to think we “know” it all. We obviously have all the answers, I mean come on, look how smart we are. We tend to go running off making up our own minds about how things should be done then are left confused and dumbfounded when consequences we could never foresee happen.
I am sure my parents, rolled their eyes at me on more than one occasion. As I burst into the room with all the eagerness and energy of a youth proclaiming that I will go traveling the world, or start a new business or..or..or.. you get the idea.
I am sure God too has rolled His eyes at me on more than one occasion as I proclaimed that I will be…I will do…I will…
Seek counsel but seek God’s counsel first and foremost. Take what you hear to your trusted advisors, pray, ask, seek, and proceed with God’s plan for success.
Pray
Mighty God, we often only seek our own wisdom. We rely to much upon ourselves, and not enough on you. Today as we make decisions for this afternoon for the future, may we remember to seek You counsel first. Help us to surround ourselves with advisors who also rely on you. In Jesus name, Amen.
Go with God!
