Focus
Experience silence in the midst of your busy day. Take some time to relax into a time to be with God.
Read
15 People were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them; and when the disciples saw it, they sternly ordered them not to do it. 16 But Jesus called for them and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs. 17 Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.”
Reflect
As we grow older we can often grow more cynical. We have experienced the realities of the world and it makes us hard. We have been betrayed, abused, taken advantage of, and disappointed. We seem to take everything with caution. When something good happens, we think something worse is going to follow in time.
One of the joys of watching children is their unabashed love of life. Everything is an opportunity for play and excitement. In a child’s imagination, a box becomes a fortress in which the child becomes the king or queen of a vast domain, a stick becomes a sword that can be used to save the world from some evil character, stuffed animals become the perfect friends on a great adventure. I think another gift of a child is that they are unrestrained in their joy when they see their parents and grandparents and give them big hugs.

I pray for my soul that when I think of Jesus I can respond as a child.
How do we receive the Kingdom like a little child?
Pray
God of all. Remind us that it’s not the adults who know you through wisdom and piety. Some of the wisest people about the kingdom are the children who play and pray in such a beautiful and carefree way. Their wild imaginations see more clearly the world that you brought near within the broken one we so often see. Guide us to see and receive the Kingdom as a little child. This we pray today. Amen.
Go with God!
