Be still and rest in the Lord.

14 The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all this, and they ridiculed him. 15 So he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of others; but God knows your hearts; for what is prized by human beings is an abomination in the sight of God.
Reflect
A question I ask my children is, “How’s your heart?” I realized when I asked them how they were doing, they would often tell me about all the things they were doing, but what I really wanted to know is how is your heart? Are you being the type of person God wants you to be? Are you focused on the right things?
Really, it is a difficult question when being honest with ourselves. It takes time for us to unpack. This is what the time of Lent is for; to get beyond the surface of justifying ourselves and doing a heart check.
What does God know about you? What does God see in your heart?
Pray
Beautiful creator, you made us in your image. Yet we break our bonds with you and distort your image to others. Bring us back to you. Create in us a clean heart God. Help us see what we harbor in our hearts that breaks yours. Compel us. Convict us. Guide us again. Amen.
Go with God!
