Reflect

The internet rarely agrees on anything. I’m sure if you search for anything on the internet there will be conflicting results about almost everything. This has proven to be true for me in almost everything except hymns. 

If you google top church hymns you will get lists that almost all match. They list titles most of us know such as Amazing Grace, Be Thou My Vision, Come Thou Fount of every blessing, Holy Holy Holy, and Morning has Broken. There are many other songs on these lists of top hymns but the common thread is most of them praise God. 

Our text today reflects the act of Praising God. Of course, it is like life, not everyone is always in the praising mood but still, we see that the Lord answers, forgives, and avenges. We see in the midst of so much struggle that there are still reasons to praise God.

Today I encourage you to take time to praise. Look around and see what is good, even if there isn’t much good. Sing your favorite hymn, listen to a praise song, go for a walk, do whatever connects you to God in a moment of Praise.

Pray

God, today I thank you for being a constant in my life even when I move away from you. I give you praise for the goodness You provide even in the midst of struggle. Thank you for allowing me to spend time with you. May my heart be filled with praise spill out into all that I do. Amen
