13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace among those whom he favors!”
Reflect
Christmas Day has come and now it’s over. We have prepared for weeks – maybe months – and now it’s gone, just like that. The used wrapping paper is in the trash. The leftover food is in the refrigerator. The guests have come and gone. We make plans to take down the decorations to store away for next Christmas. And many declare, “I am so glad Christmas is over!”
Is it really over?
Christmas is not something that you can wrap up with paper and give away. It is not something that you can decorate or eat. Christmas is so much more than that. Christmas is where we take the hope, peace, joy, and love of the Son of God and place it within our hearts and lives to carry us day today and to share with others. Christmas is when we reflect on our relationship with the Christ Child born in Bethlehem. Christmas is more than a feeling; it is a way of life. Jesus Christ is what Christmas is all about!
Why do we limit Christmas to just a day on the calendar? Take the hope, peace, joy, and love of Christmas and live it every day! We should and we must!
Merry Christmas!
Pray
Father, we do thank you and love you. We celebrate the birth of your Son and we continue to share His story. Lord, we want the hope, peace, joy, and love to be ever-present in our lives. And we praise You. We pray in the name of the baby born in Bethlehem. Amen!
