Focus
Let yourself become open to God and the knowledge that comes from the Word. Ask God for a peace at this time.

3 Strengthen the weak hands,
and make firm the feeble knees.
4 Say to those who are of a fearful heart,
“Be strong, do not fear!
Here is your God.
He will come with vengeance,
with terrible recompense.
He will come and save you.”
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
and the ears of the deaf unstopped;
6 then the lame shall leap like a deer,
and the tongue of the speechless sing for joy.
For waters shall break forth in the wilderness,
and streams in the desert;
7 the burning sand shall become a pool,
and the thirsty ground springs of water;
the haunt of jackals shall become a swamp,
the grass shall become reeds and rushes.
Reflect
I remember asking people what it was like to be saved when I was being convicted by the Holy Spirit to become a Christian. I also remember the lack of answers. No one seemed to be able to conceptualize salvation into words. I really needed an Isaiah at that moment in my life. I needed someone to be able to say that when God saves you it is like being able to hear and to see after being blind and deaf for so long. It is like being in a dessert with no hope and then finding water gushing forth and creating a stream. I needed someone to say that salvation is like being blind, but now able to see. It is like being lost, but now being found. It is like being born again. It is like having no clue, and then finding all the answers. It’s like when you feel so battered by the decisions of others and your own that you can no longer stand, and then someone kneels down beside you and asks, “Can I help you find the strength and wisdom to stand again?”
Pray
God, help us to find the words and the ways to share our faith and to help others understand what it is like to be saved.
