Focus
As you quiet yourself for this brief time, be willing to be open to God in whatever way that may take place.

6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die. 8 But God proves his love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us. 9 Much more surely then, now that we have been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more surely, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life. 11 But more than that, we even boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
Reflect
There are many verses of scripture that highlight the mercy of God. These verses in Romans are included. The mercy of God is shown by our rebellion. We were sinners, enemies of God. Yet, He reconciled us, brought us back into a right relationship with Him through the death of His Son. His life, His resurrection saves us, so we don’t boast in anything we have done. The only thing that we accomplished is providing the need for salvation, our sin, which brings the wrath of God. That wrath fell upon Christ, our propitiation. What we boast in is His mercy and grace, that when we were unlovable, He loved us. God’s mercy and grace should be something that we want to tell to everyone we meet.
Pray
Dear Lord, I thank you and praise you for your mercy and grace, that you saved me when I wasn’t worth saving. Lord, help me to tell the world about your grace that is greater than any of their sin, or my sin. Amen
