Pay attention to the tension in your body. Let go of it and any expectations to do anything other than God’s will today. Prepare yourself to hear God’s word.
Read
6 who made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them;
who keeps faith forever;
7 who executes justice for the oppressed;
who gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets the prisoners free;
8 the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.
The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;
the Lord loves the righteous.
9 The Lord watches over the strangers;
he upholds the orphan and the widow,
but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.
Reflect
How wonderful it is to know that no matter what our problems are, we are under the protection of the creator of the universe! Our Lord and God protects us from the enemy and all those who may seek to separate us from that mighty hand. When life’s greatest battles oppress us, God is there to lift us up and protect us.
Yet, we often only look to God in this manner when we are faced with life’s most difficult challenges. When we do this, we limit the boundless blessings God has in store for us. We are afforded the help and encouragement of the Heavenly Father in every aspect of our lives. God does not micro-manage our lives, but everything we are going through is known to the Lord and provision has been made – all we have to do is submit and ask.
So, again, I challenge you to acknowledge God and the promises of the Almighty Lord of Heaven as you go through your day. Remember, God upholds us when we are oppressed and feeds us when our soul longs for nourishment. The Lord has freed us from the bondage of sin and allowed us to see the wonders of the Eternal. When we sincerely humble ourselves, our righteousness is rewarded.
Pray
Heavenly Father, as an earthly parent protects their children, so we have faith that You, our good Father, will also protect us as well. Thank You for your constant presence and protection. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
