“Remember who you are, and that your actions reflect on your family.  Don’t embarrass us.”   Those were the last words I would hear going out the door when I became old enough to venture out with friends without my family.  I tried very hard to follow that warning.  To do that I needed the right kind of friends.  What kind of people do you surround yourself with?  Do your friends make you a better person or influence you to go down the wrong path? 

This Psalm is addressed to the Israelites who did not have the right kind of friends.  They disobeyed God’s law.  Worse than that, they would act very religious hoping to cover up their sins.  They didn’t respect God’s Word.  They thought they could sin and get away with it. The writer referred to the seventh (adultery), eighth (stealing), and ninth (slander) commandants. He also gave a brief description of what God wants in His worshipers.  They are the ones who seek to honor Him.  Who obey Him.  Who have a proper fear of Him.  Is that you?
