Has it been your experience, in doing good, that evil is always present? From Genesis to this very day, the righteous are under attack, yet by faith in God we win, and the unrighteous see it and /or come to know it because God is the rewarder of our faith. God will reward us, bless us, in the very “presence of our enemies.”

The Bible provides “biographies, experiences, and outcomes of both the faithful and the unfaithful. IN contrast and comparison, both appear in each other’s journies/stories, and we see clearly, relevance in our own experiences.

I am reminded, in this scripture reading, that doing good is a responsibility, an obligation, not for the purpose of seeing something in payment, because there are struggles and great lack of immediate reward, and very little appreciation from fellow humans, even many who profess to be Christians.

David, despite his human-ness and imperfection, was after “God’s own heart.” He was good/kind even to the wicked. He was condemned, lied on, spied on, and misrepresented, all by those who wanted to be like him, who wanted to delete him and his power and influence, and who wanted him cursed and no longer blessed. Then I am reminded of how easily influenced even Christians can be by the worldly intelligent and authoritative…sprinkled with fear.

We ought to do as David did, be still and think through lest we react and respond in ways not instructed by God, restore the humiliated and broken, and with prayer and receiving revelation, proceed as God instructs.
