As you quiet yourself for this brief time, be willing to be open to God in whatever way that may take place.

12 I am writing to you, dear children,
because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.
13 I am writing to you, fathers,
because you know him who is from the beginning.
I am writing to you, young men,
because you have overcome the evil one.
14 I write to you, dear children,
because you know the Father.
I write to you, fathers,
because you know him who is from the beginning.
I write to you, young men,
because you are strong,
and the word of God lives in you,
and you have overcome the evil one.
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
Reflect
Have you ever acted out of anger towards someone? Maybe it was a disagreement between you and your best friend, or maybe even a family member. Did your reply to the situation cause you to say something out of anger that you wished you could have taken back after you had said it? Sure we have all had this happen to us at least once in our life. Once you said it was the person willing to forgive you or did they deny your request for forgiveness?
Ladies and gentlemen, how many people know that we sin against God almost daily? We can do this in multiple ways and not even realize that we have done so. Think about the way you treat people on the daily basis. The people that you know personally and even the ones that you just happen to come across from time to time. Do you treat each one of them with love every single time?
Did you know that when we ask God for forgiveness for the things that we do or say that he is willing to forgive us. Not because he has to do it or because we deserve it. He forgives our sins because he loves us. And just remember God loves everyone on this earth and wants us to love those around us.
Pray
Dear God thank you for forgiveness today. Lord please allow us to grow to love and treat those around us the way you want us to. So that we may please you and bring honor to your name. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit Amen.
Go with God!
