1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy, our brother,
2 To the saints and faithful brothers and sisters in Christ in Colossae:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father.
3 In our prayers for you we always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love that you have for all the saints, 5 because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel 6 that has come to you. Just as it is bearing fruit and growing in the whole world, so it has been bearing fruit among yourselves from the day you heard it and truly comprehended the grace of God. 7 This you learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant. He is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, 8 and he has made known to us your love in the Spirit.
Reflect
Paul was not the minister of a local church, however, he was a support to local churches and ministers throughout the known world. God gave Paul the blessing of seeing the Gospel transform the lives of thousands of people in various ministries and to help support those ministries. I have been in this position with the denomination for a full two years, and I am as thankful now as I was on the first day I was hired. Maybe I am more thankful because I have been able to meet so many faithful ministers, elders, and church members. I have seen that our denomination is filled with people who, above all else, seek the glory of God and the betterment of the human family.
Like Paul, I always give thanks for you. My prayer is that our church is the vehicle by which God’s grace flows through all the communities and towns that the Cumberland Presbyterian Church has a home. I pray for the ministers, and elders, and the ministries administered through the churches, that they are endowed with grace, love, and the Holy Spirit. I pray we all continue the good work God gave us in Christ Jesus!
Blessings to you all reading this and thank you for all your work!
Chris
Pray
Thank You, God, for the faithful that have accepted your salvation in Jesus Christ. Thank you for the readiness to work for you. Give us a burning desire in our hearts that we will not be moved in our work for you. Give us the power of the Holy Spirit that our work may not be in vain. Amen
Go with God!
