6 3 Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”
Reflect
Sometimes, in life, we are faced with a moment, a minute, or even a month in which we can’t see what’s coming next. Sometimes, the road ahead is blocked by fog, a wreck, sickness, job termination or relocation, or even the death of someone close. Sometimes even our “God-vision” is blocked. My wife and I were driving up to see our daughter one weekend and we were abruptly stopped at the beginning of a 20-plus mile section of one-lane interstate. It was 9:30 a.m. We were stopped because of three different major wrecks up ahead. Initially, I was frustrated. We had been cruising along; now we were sitting still. I got out of the car and walked around to look up ahead. All I could see in front of me was one long line of cars and semis as far as the eye could see. After a time, I began to realize that it was o.k. In fact, I actively acknowledged that God was in control; I know I sure wasn’t. I said a short prayer and thanked God for all that was good and happening at that moment: I was with my wife. It was sunny. We had gas. We met the people behind us. When we finally got moving, it was 2:30 p.m.! Nothing is sure in this world except this: “As surely as the sun rises, the Lord will appear.” We just need to keep acknowledging God through “God conversation,” even when we have to “press on” to see Him or hear Him. You may not know when, but you can be sure that the sun will rise, and life will move forward.
Pray
Thank You for all the times You have “showed up” for me and in me and through me. Help me to “press on” trusting You to guide me along the way. Amen.
Go with God!
