Focus
Slow your breathing and become aware of the taking in and letting out of your breath. Focus on putting things aside so you will be open to what God is saying to you today.

10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me has not been in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them—though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.
Reflect
As people of God we do our best to work for the Lord and do so with all our heart. We have our responsibilities in the “real” world with our jobs and families to work in such a way that God is glorified. Then we have our responsibilities as church leaders or volunteers where we seek to glorify God through ministry to others. We work to the point of exhaustion so that God is glorified. Sometimes our work is received well by others and people tell us “Good job,” “Way to go,” “You did great!” Other times there will be people who think what you do was wrong or a waste of time. The biblical command is for us to work for God. We are to take everything we do very serious because we are glorifying God. I remind myself of this when someone is critical of the work I do. It’s ok. I have worked hard, but not only have I worked hard, but God has graced me with the Holy Spirit working in me. When I lay my head down at night I give God praise for God’s working in my life and I also give my efforts to God asking God to bless it in anyway that glorifies God.
Pray
God, you have given us work to do. Help us to be about the work. Help us to be faithful to Your calling in our lives and not be overly disappointed or too proud of our work. We acknowledge that it is You who works in us, making our meager efforts something great in Your hands. Amen.
Go with God!
